Directions for pre-operative
Breast surgery

DURING DAYS BEFORE YOUR SURGERY

  1.  Do not take aspirin, aspirin contain drugs (see drug sheet for complete list).
  2.  Do not take vitamins.
  3.  Do not smoke.
  4.  Arrange transportation to and from surgery, you cannot drive yourself.

THE NIGHT BEFORE SURGERY

  1.  Do not eat or drink anything after 10pm

DAY OF SURGERY

  1. Cleanliness is very important, bathe as normal with particular attention to the chest and under the shoulder area
  2. Do not apply lotions, oils, deodorants or antiperspirants in the area
  3. Brush your teeth and gargle with mouthwash (Listerine or scope)
  4. No make up
  5. No nail polish
  6. No contact lenses
  7. No jewelry (please leave al valuables at home)
  8. No children

Wear comfortable clothes with zipper or buttons in front, tennis shoes or flats. You will leave the same day
